A very important date for resellers
Please mark December 2, 2019 in red on your calendar.
As an HPE reseller, you will need to update any parts SKUs lists you currently use when ordering HPE Hybrid IT products and services. From December 2, you will need to use new SKU’s when ordering and configuring those products.
Please continue reading and you will find everything you have to do to keep it Business as Usual on December 2.
Why do I have to update parts SKUs?
From December 2, 2019 HPE is re-categorizing its Hybrid IT products and services portfolio into four distinct segments: Compute, Specialized Compute, Storage, plus Advisory & Professional Services (A&PS).
It will mean using replicated segment-specific SKUs when ordering hardware, although only particular SSD, HDD, Memory, GPU and Fabric options are affected.
In short, with the new categorization, one product part can have up to four different SKUs.
For example, a current GPU module with SKU R3K70A under Specialized Compute will also have an equivalent SKU number in Compute:
Current SKU (Shared): R3K70A
Future SKU Compute: R3K70C
Future SKU Specialized Compute: R3K70A
In addition, where applicable, factory install (#0D1) SKUs associated with hardware options will also be replicated.
What products are in which category?
Below is an outline of what HPE Hybrid IT products and services fall under which category:
Compute
ProLiant (DL, ML, Microserver), Synergy, C-Class, Cloudline, and associated services, such as Lifecycle Event Services, Foundation Care, Proactive Care, Datacenter Care, etc.
Specialized Compute
Mission-Critical, all Apollo compute platforms (including Apollo 2000, Apollo 6500, SGI 8600, etc.), Edge Compute (Moonshot, Edgeline), and associated services (as described above)
Storage
Apollo 4xxx series, Nimble, 3PAR, Primera, SimpliVity, XP, MSA, StoreEasy, StoreOnce, StoreEver, Disk Enclosures, Storage Networking, and associated services (as described above)
A&PS
Advisory and Professional Services (consulting, education, etc. not directly tied to hardware)
What else do I need to know?
The products will stay exactly the same, as will pricing. Plus, for configurators and tools like iQuote updates will happen automatically.
It goes without saying that all changes will continue to be underpinned by great ALSO/HPE service. And your FY20 partner incentives will be structured so that segment-specific SKUs have the same rate tier across segments.
Any existing open orders made before December 2nd will not be affected, and documents and invoices for those open orders will not impacted.
What resources are available to help me in keeping things Business as Usual on December 2?
