HP creates this root of trust with our HP Endpoint Security Controller, and we’ve been doing this for many years.
The HP Endpoint Security Controller is the actual hardware component that enables HP Sure Start (the industry’s first and only self-healing BIOS) – and it has been integrated into our Elite PCs since 2014.
From its own physically isolated and cryptographically protected hardware, the HP Endpoint Security Controller can monitor your system, and step into action when it sees anything out of order – just like a guard in a watchtower.
When we implemented HP Sure Start, it gave us the ability to secure the PC starting BELOW the OS, in the BIOS. The BIOS is a critical firmware component that is at the very foundation of our entire security stack. Having a secure BIOS means your PC is secure from the very foundation.
This unique hardware is at the core of our security architecture. This is an important differentiator that enables us to harden our security stack, anchoring our solutions in trusted hardware.
We are also using the HP Endpoint Security Controller to make reimaging easier, with HP Sure Recover.
Having a fast, efficient way to reimage machines is important – because reimaging can be a painful process, costing your customer hours of lost productivity. HP Sure Recover enables secure, automated, network-based image recovery to make the entire process faster and easier.
Now, HP Sure Recover with Embedded Reimaging offers all of the benefits of HP Sure Recover, plus it enables you to recover automatically anytime, anywhere – without a network connection, backup media, or IT help.
It does this by saving a copy of the image (OS) directly to the protected HP Endpoint Security Controller. So you can reimage quickly anywhere – from a hotel room, to an airplane.
